Trolling for Plaintiffs

USA Today (September 24, 1997)

It is alleged that the diet drug combination of fenfluramine and phentermine (fen/phen) and the diet drug Redux have caused adverse health effects in some people.

As pointed out on this page previously, nothing has been proven with anything close to scientific certainty. Yet the sharks smell blood. Here's copy of an advertisement that one plaintiff lawyer is using to troll for clients.

This plaintiff lawyer apparently knows that fen/phen and Redux "caused" health problems. But he's the only one. Even the knee-jerk FDA has not yet made that unfounded claim.

But as Mr. Zieve points out, you can take comfort in the fact that it's not "too late" to file a claim against the diet drug manufacturers (the controversy is less than one month old!). Also Mr. Zieve has relevant experience. Apparently he previously participated in shaking down manufacturers of breast implants.
