Longer life isn't worth a tofu diet

Dr. Neal D. Barnard's commentary (Dec. 9, "We must broaden the prevention front in cancer war") neglected one vital piece of information for an unbiased judgment of what constitutes a healthy diet. That information is length of life.

Vegetarians die, too, of something, along with us meat eaters. I challenge you to publish studies that include lengths of life, along with cause of death, for various lifestyles.

However, even if one got a few more months in a nursing home from a lifetime of tofu and beans, that quality of life would hardly be desirable.
