I understand that your correspondent Teri Whitcraft is preparing a story on so-called "endocrine disrupters" and hastened puberty in girls.
I am concerned that a 20/20 presentation of this issue may be inaccurate and biased. It would be unseemly for 20/20 to appear to be a mouthpiece for radical environmental groups.
I would be more than happy to supply Ms. Whitcraft with any information that would make her story accurate and balanced.
The recent 20/20 story on phthalate-containing toys was unduly alarmist, especially in light of today's report from the Consumer Product Safety Commission concluding there was no reason for such alarm.
I urge you to consider my offer.
